I really love how detailed and thoughtful these are. I learn so much but they’re still balanced with humor and light and a push to dive deeper into the things I enjoy on my own. I’m also going to New Orleans next week and I’m gonna make it a priority to try a rum from there.

Thanks a lot, I'm glad to hear that the pieces (despite being lengthy) are resonating with you. Topics are heavy, to say the least, so the levity is very intentional. You're in for a treat! Rum bars that likely have Louisiana rums in them: Cane & Table or Beachbum Berry's Latitude 29 (they'll also have really good cocktails, especially C&T, if that's your speed).

The rum to look out for is Cheramie. Try both the unaged and aged products. Roulaison (different brand) is in NOLA as well. I think you can book tours with them on their site. And then there's Oxbow, based in Baton Rouge, but their products may be floating around New Orleans.

Last recommendation is to go to Fritai (Haitian restaurant). The food is great. But also try their Clairin. It's my favorite unaged rum at the moment. They got a flight where you can sample 3 different kinds. But if that's too much, go for a pour of the Le Rocher. Great entry to Clairin. Enjoy your trip!
